The Girls and Boys Track Teams participated in the Avon Relays this past Saturday. Scoring for the girls were second place finishers Grace Hayes in the 100 meter dash, the sprint medley relay team of Dahlia Najjar, Grace Hayes, Allie Campbell, and Rose Eyerman, and the shotput relay team of Daija Young and Jaylnn Broadnax. Also scoring for the Lady Trojans were 6th place finishers Carli Sparks in the 1600 meter run, and the discus relay team of Daija Young and Emily Francisco. They also had an 8th place finish from the 4×400 relay team of Sydney Wrabel, Rose Eyerman, Dahlia Najjar, and Mercedeez Francis.
On the boys side, 5th place finishers were Jarrett Kelly in the 100 meter dash and the long jump relay team of Jarrett Kelly and John Caja. The Trojans had several 7th place finishes from Jermaine Francis in the high hurdles, the 4×100 relay team of Andrew Kenega, Jarrett Kelly, Eric Filakosky, and John Caja, and the 4×800 relay team of Ben Giulivo, Andrew Zoeckler, Luke Jefferson, and Michael Nozak. The 4×200 relay team of Eric Filakosky, Jarrett Kelly, Andrew Kenaga, and John Caja contributed to the Trojans score with an 8th place finish.
Both the boys and girls team travel to Padua Franciscan High School tomorrow for the first day of competition in the North Coast League Championships. The meet begins at 4:00 with field events and running events to follow at 4:45.
