The Boys and Girls Track Teams finished 2nd to St. Thomas Aquinas at the North Coast League Meet yesterday.
Daija Young continued her dominance in the throws by setting a meet record of 142 feet in the discus. Mercedeez Francis finished 2nd in the high jump. Also placing for the girls were a 4th place finish by the 4×200 relay team of Allie Campbell, Sydney Wrabel, Rose Eyerman and Grace Hayes, Allie Campbell finished 4th in the 200 meter dash, Rose Eyerman finished 5th in the 400 meter dash and Carli Sparks finished 5th in the 3200 meter run. The following girls also placed 8th in their respective events: Grace Hayes (100 meter dash), Mercedeez Francis (300 hurdles) and the 4×100 relay team and the 4×400 relay team.
In the boys meet, the 4×200 and 4×100 relay teams of Eric Filakosky, Jarrett Kelly, Andrew Kenaga and John Caja both finished 2nd. The 4×200 team is currently ranked 2nd in the state. Also finishing 2nd was Ben Giulivo in the 800 meter run. Finishing 3rd was Jermaine Francis in both hurdle races, Jarrett Kelly in the 100 meter dash and John Caja in the 200 meter dash. Jarrett Kelly also took 6th in the long jump while the 4×400 relay team of Nick Reese, Jermaine Francis, Michael Nozak and Ben Giulivo took 7th.
The boys and girls will travel to Gilmour for a dual meet next Wednesday.
