The Trojans Baseball Team defeated Ottawa Hills last Friday night 15-7 to win the Division IV Regional Championship and qualify for the State Final Four in Columbus. The last time the baseball program advanced to States was in 1984. Senior Danny Strenk pitched 6.1 innings (5 strikeouts) for the win, while senior Zach Mammana had to come in to get the last two outs in the bottom of the 7th. The offense was lead by seniors Clay Anderson (3 hits & 3 RBI), John Oleksik (2 hits), Jake Visha (4 RBI) and sophomore John Costella (4 RBI). The Trojans did their damage in the first (4 runs), 6th (5 runs) and 7th (4 runs) innings to advance.
The Trojans (22-3) will play at 10:00 am this Thursday, May 31st at Huntington Park in Columbus.
