The Trojans Varsity Basketball team defeated St. Martin De Porres, 70-69, last night in Godlewski Gym for their second win in a row. After falling to Lutheran West at home last Friday night on a late score, the Trojans came back to beat Cuyahoga Heights in a thriller 49-46 on Tuesday night. The Trojans were lead by junior Isaiah King (15 points), who made two free thros with 10 seconds left in the game to seal the win. Seniors Luke McKiernan and Chris Grooms each had 10 points. Last night the Trojans fell behind by 13 points at the end of the third quarter and rallied for the one point victory. Junior Ryan Trent and Grooms lead the way with 16 points each. King (13 points), McKiernan (9 points), and senior Ian Anderson (9 points) all contributed on the offensive end. Seniors Jack Maloney and Keon Holland helped defensively to hold the Lions to 9 points in the fourth quarter. The victory secured the first Workforce Cup for the Trojans.
The Trojans (4-8, 2-6) travel to Oberlin tomorrow night for an independent contest. The JV tip off at 5:00 pm followed by the Varsity at 6:30 pm.
