The Trojans Varsity Baseball team split their two-game series with Beachwood this week, winning the opener 1-0 before falling 6-5 on Tuesday. On Monday afternoon at Danko Field, the Trojans won behind senior pitcher Michael Clancy (4.2 innings & 11 K’s) and junior Matthew Trimble (2.1 innings, 3 K’s & the save). The lone run of the game was a 4th inning HR by Trimble over the Left Field fence. Tuesday at Beachwood, the Trojans rallied against the Bisons in the top of the 7th to tie the score at 5, but lost on a walk off single in the bottom of the inning. Junior Ian Anderson started the game and went 4 innings, giving up 3 runs with 8 K’s. Offensively, the team was lead by Anderson (2-4, 2 runs scored), Trimble (2-2, 2 walk, 1 run scored), senior Luke McKiernan (1-2, 2 walks, 2 runs scored), and junior Kenny Krawczyk (1-2, RBI, 1 walk). These games were the first for the Trinity baseball program in the Chagrin Valley Conference.
The Trojans (1-1, 1-1) travel to Eastlake North on Monday, April 5th for a 4:30 pm game.
